WORKSHOP INVITATION

The Workshop of Using Conceptual Model in Nursing will be held by Akdeniz University, Antalya Health School on 18^th and 19^th December, 2009 in Antalya. All academicians, researchers, practitioners and other colleagues who are interested in using the conceptual model in education, practice and researches are invited to the workshop, of which topic, purpose and schedule have been outlined below.

THE TOPIC AND PURPOSE OF THE WORKSHOP

The objective of this workshop is to bring together the Turkish and foreign academicians, researchers and practitioners who are interested in this topic.

We are honored to invite you to the workshop titled “Using Conceptual Models in Nursing". The discipline of nursing is established on theory and research pertaining to nursing. Efforts of developing a nursing models in the discipline of nursing emerged  from the understanding of the rights of the individuals and the society to receive an organized, high quality nursing services with a holistic and humanistic view nursing practice based on a conceptual model enables the nurses to focus on their role and practices as a nurse.

In recent years, there has been a great amount of interest on using nursing theory and models in nursing practices and research. Similarly, in our country as well, there is an increasing interest of use of theory and models in nursing. Therefore the purpose of this meeting is to explain, by means of clinical examples, the utilization of theory and models in nursing; to increase awareness; to share experiences; and to be able to come up with future plans aimed at utilizing theory and model in research and nursing practice.
